Hi, welcome to Kutesy Shoppe! My name is Karen! I started playing with clay at the age of 7 (so, it's 2 decades ago) but 3 years ago, one interesting craft amazed me and reminded me of my childhood....the polymer clay! This clay is not the same with the clay that I grew up with. It's only called "clay" because it is a modeling material that works and feels like ceramic clay.I promised myself that as soon as I get a regular income, I will also try this type of craft. I started working with polymer clay last month of May through a clay workshop I've attended. The name Kutesy came from the original word "cutesy" which means cute in an affected way. Cute is another word for pretty or attractive. I used "K" instead of "C" since my name starts with a K. ^_^ My main inspirations are sweets and pastries since I loved desserts. However, I don't want to gain much weight, so I just put my cravings into clay pieces... :-P Every item is handmade with love and patience one at a time. My real love is actually paintings and designs, however it requires extra money and time to pursue the career. I'm glad that I've discovered this craft. In my own little way, I can still continue my passion in arts. Thank God that polymer clay came to the Philippines! ^_^ Work Process All the clay items are handmade by me alone - each single piece goes a long process before it will be actually delivered to you. Each clay item needs to be molded from a raw block of polymer clay until it has the final shape; then it will be baked along with my other clay pieces in the electric oven; after that each piece will get a coat of glaze, then add some chains, ear wires, and other additional charms. Then, it's time for packaging each item (package/box depends on the accessories you purchased: necklace, earrings, bracelet etc.) After the item is packaged, it will be put in plastics (depending on the courier you chose) and ship to you. Although 1 piece may take only 10-20 minutes to be made, the whole batch takes around 2-3 weeks (we can also add to the process the time I spent replying to e-mails and looking for the supplies). It's really a long process however it's worth the wait! I hope you enjoy my clay accessories! :-D
